Engagement Photoshoot: Jess and Conor

7 Years and counting…

Jess (my sister) and Conor (her fiancé) have been together seven years this July, and are getting married in October. I know. My younger sister is getting married, I can’t quite believe it either…

Whilst I’m not photographing their wedding, I’ll be on bridesmaid duty instead, Jess did ask me if I could do an engagement shoot for them and of course I said yes. So when they last came to visit, after getting the both of them up (which was a challenge as they got in past midnight from a trip to Denmark) we made our way into Cambridge.

We traipsed all over Cambridge for this, from Kings College, to the older town through to Jesus Green. To finish? A trip to Ed’s Diner which is one of their favourite spots to go for a bite to eat and have a milkshake!

Now Jess and Conor both HATE having their photo taken, pair that with the fact that it’s always harder to have a photoshoot with someone you know and you can imagine the worries they had initially. Especially when it’s your sister who is the photographer. That said, once we got into the shoot, these two were naturals in front of the camera and Jess was particularly keen to keep trying new things. And as with any shoot, I base all of the “poses” on natural interactions so throughout the shoot I was encouraging conversation and the two of them to act as naturally as possible!

Are you getting married soon? Maybe you just want a trial run in front of the camera, or you are celebrating a milestone and would like to have this captured? Whatever the reason, if you want authentic, relaxed images of you and your partner or family, get in touch today!
